I’m embarrassed to report that I lost track of Dean Koontz somewhere along the way. When I saw the coming attractions on my reading list looking a little light, I scrounged around and found THE SILENT CORNER, the first book in the JANE HAWK series.
I noted that it is a longer series, but as you know, I always choose to start with the first novel in a series.

What a crazy plot line Koontz has developed!
A cabal of twisted leaders across the American landscape has discovered a nanotechnology that takes over the brain patterns of its unwitting victims and leads them to suicide. The 4th book in the Jane Hawk series, THE FORBIDDEN DOOR, and #5, THE NIGHT WINDOW (published in the Spring of 2019) are on the shelf. We’re still waiting for #6.
This is planned to be a 7 book series.
The Moonlight Bay series featuring Christopher Snow
When I caught up to the Jane Hawk series, it also reminded me to look at the catalog of Koontz’s extensive work.
That’s when I learned that I missed the 2nd Christopher Snow novel, SEIZE THE NIGHT, following the debut of the Moonlight Bay series, FEAR NOTHING, which I read more than 10 years ago.
I remembered it for the interesting Snow character who has a very rare genetic disorder shared by only one thousand other Americans, a disorder that leaves him dangerously vulnerable to light. A very unique read.
The Latest
In a 2017 interview with Goodreads, Koontz indicated that he intends to finish the Moonlight Bay trilogy with RIDE THE STORM, once he finishes the 7th book in his Jane Hawk series.I should note that he’s been saying that for over 20 years after the first two were published, so obviously something else caught his fancy in the meantime.
But, he’s certainly not loafing. Koontz is one of the most prolific authors around (along with Stephen King), with more than 500 million books sold and an Amazon series, NAMELESS, now in its second season.
I’m sure more great novels are on the way.

The books are listed in order, but not according to the series name except for those already published, so there are no particular clues about what’s next in what series. Perhaps the author doesn’t know, but it’s odd to hear about a book, say the 7th book in the Jane Hawk series, when the 6th book isnt’ out, or to learn that the final book in the Moonlight Bay/Christoper Snow series has been underway for over 20 years.
