10 Things You Can Do in 2017 With No Talent

Sure, talent is always a plus, but there are a lot of things you can do that require no talent at all.

T his is a holiday season post, so while I’m taking a little time off, I wanted to encourage you to think about what you can do in 2017 without any talent at all!

What Can I Do If I Have NO Talent?

You may have seen a list like this somewhere, so I won’t belabor it.

If nothing else, it is a valuable reminder that you have a contribution to make.

While I’m sure you DO have talent, probably in many areas, this is a reminder that talent is not required for some of the most important behaviors that make us successful … at work, at home, in our community … in LIFE.

1. Be on Time

As many of you know, I’ve written about this before. Nothing could be easier.

2. Work Ethic

I think you already know this.

Hard Work will cure a lot of ills, and overcome virtually any lack of talent.

3. Effort

Give it a little more when it’s needed.

4. Body Language

You can do this.

When you’re meeting with someone and looking anywhere except at them, you’ve missed this one.

5. Energy

You can always get more … and apply more.

6. Attitude

This is the 3rd Leadership principle in my e-book, The Cornerstones of Effective L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P..

In my experience, it may be the overriding behavior that drives our success.

Approach everything with a positive attitude.

Great things will follow.

7. Passion

You’ve heard it before:

  • “If you’re doing something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.”

8. Being Coachable

This is one of the most important characteristics you should look for in any leader or executive.

Every single one of us can benefit from coaching.

It can come from anywhere, but unbiased, honest and candid feedback is irreplaceable.

Take a look at my article, Everybody Needs a Coach.

If you disagree with the premise after reading it, let me know.

9. Doing Extra

Yes, you can always do more. Respond with urgency when a friend calls on you for help.

You’ll never regret it.

10. Being Prepared

This is a remarkably simple formula to Achieve Excellence.

Summary

See how simple that was?

You can do all of these.

Make each of these a habit by picking one each day.

Paste the word or phrase to your forehead.

Focus on it intently throughout the day.

You’ll be amazed at how powerful you will become.

Question: Which one of these behaviors will you pick today, and why? You can easily add your comment below, or by visiting our Facebook Page or @Exkalibur on Twitter. I visit them every day and look forward to discussing these ideas and concepts with you.
